Long-time Myanmar ex-pat arrested with 80 methamphetamine pills in Thalang

A Myanmar man who has lived in Thailand for 33 years was arrested with 80 methamphetamine pills and crystal methamphetamine in Thalang.

The Thalang District Chief Mr. Bancha Tanooin told the Phuket Express that a team of officers from the Thalang District arrested Mr. Ao Sen, Myanmar national, at a house in Cherng Talay. Seized from him were 48.46 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 80 methamphetamine pills. He is facing charges of illegal possession of Category 1 Drugs with intent to sell.

Mr. Ao Sen admitted to officers that he first bought drugs for himself but later sold to other Thai and migrant workers. He sold drugs for about six months before he was arrested. He has legally lived in Thailand for about 33 years under work permits.
