Thalang –
A power pole was near cut in half and a house was damaged after a pickup truck driver fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle today in Thalang.
The Thalang Police was notified of the accident this morning (December 16th) on Thep Kasattri Road southbound in Sri Soonthorn.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck on the roadside. Nearby, they found a damaged power pole and a damaged house.
The driver, Mr. Kittichai Kamjaras, 27, had sustained hand injuries. He said he was coming from Surat Thani and heading to Phuket town. He admitted that he had fallen asleep at the wheel before the accident.
The Thalang Police told the Phuket Express. Mr. Kittichai is facing charges of reckless driving causing property damage.
