UPDATE: Chalong to Patong Road construction is 80 percent completed

Chalong, Patong –

A backup road from Chalong to Patong under construction is now 80 percent completed.

Our previous story:

The Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew and the President of the Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO) Rewat Areerob on October 24th surveyed the local road behind the Silsuparam Temple in Chalong.

Now for the update:

Mr. Rewat told the Phuket Express, “This road was constructed to prevent landslides in the future and provide other opportunities to travel from Chalong to Patong.”

An exact completion date for the road, however, was not given.

Meanwhile, the Patong Hill road repair work is expected to be completed before New Year’s and the Thai Transport Minister visited Phuket.

A new local road from Kathu to Patong officially opened on Father’s Day, December 5th, 2022.
