Sixteen people injured after pickup truck crashes into a baht bus in Thalang, Phuket

Thalang –

  Sixteen people have sustained injuries after a pickup truck crashed into the back of a baht bus (Song Taew) in Thalang, Phuket.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 4:37 A.M. this morning (December 11th) on Thep Kasattri Road in Sri Soonthorn sub-district.

They and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find the damaged baht bus on the central reservation crashed into a tree. A damaged pickup truck was nearby.

Sixteen people on the Baht Bus sustained injuries, 14 were Myanmar nationals and two were Thais. One unidentified Thai national had sustained severe injuries. They were all taken to hospitals on seven ambulances.

The Thalang Police are continuing their investigation to find the cause of the accident. An immediate statement on what circumstances led to the major wreck was not made by rescue workers or police at the scene.
