Phuket holds marine rescue drill and fire on high-rise building drills

Phuket –

The Department and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Region 18 held a marine rescue drill and fire in high rises drill.

The drills were held yesterday (December 7th) at the Phuket Rajabhat University in Rassada. The Phuket Governor Naroon Woonciew personally inspected the drill.

The director of the DDPM Region 18 told the Phuket Express the following “We used a Rescue 1 boat, jet-ski, and dinghy boat for the marine rescue drill. For fires on high-rise building drills, we used a truck that has a four-meter high ladder with a water tube to spray water to the high building. We are ready for marine and fire rescues in the five Andaman provinces.”

Mr. Sumet Kunlarit, a rescue team member, told the Phuket Express. “We need to know some basic things before rescuing anyone. However, the first thing you need to consider is to see if we could help or not. If you cannot help, you must contact others.”
