A motorbike sidecar rider has sustained injuries after their motorbike sidecar collided with a taxi car in Rawai.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident yesterday (December 5th) afternoon near the Sai Yuan Intersection in Rawai, Mueang Phuket district.

They arrived at the scene to find the motorbike sidecar off the road in a ditch. A 29-year-old woman, the motorbike sidecar rider, had sustained various injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The damaged taxi car was on the side of the road nearby, with the uninjured driver waiting for police.

Both drivers were not identified to the press by Rawai law enforcement and emergency responders.

Witnesses told the Phuket Express that the motorbike sidecar rider collided with the taxi car before the motorbike sidecar lost control and careened into a nearby ditch.

Rawai Police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of the accident for further potential legal action.
