Patong Hill road expected to be completed before New Year, Thai Transport Minister visits

Patong –

The Patong Hill road repair work is expected to be completed before New Year’s and the Thai Transport Minister visited Phuket.

Yesterday (December 2nd) the Thai Transport Minister Mr. Saksayam Chidchob visited Phuket to discuss about transportation development projects including the Patong Hill road repair work.

Mr. Saksayam told The Phuket Express “The Patong Hill road is expected to be 100 percent completed by about December 25th just before the New Year. There will be a lot of Thai and foreign tourists who will visit Phuket this New Year. Phuket tourism is now being recovered after an awful two years due to pandemic restrictions. The number of international tourists has increased by 146 percent. We believe next year the Phuket tourism situation will be back to normal and at 2019 levels.”

Patong Hill was damaged during heavy floods that caused landslides, washing out parts of the road earlier this year.
