Cars are now allowed to pass on the partially collapsed Patong Hill Road but only in the Patong to Kathu lane.

Now for the update:

The Patong Municipality told the Phuket Express that the local road from Kathu – Patong has been renovated since last month (October). The renovation project was started by the Patong Development Foundation. The road is from a Go-kart speedway in Kathu to the Tiger Shrine in Patong which is about 2.5 kilometers.

The road is now being tested by motorbikes and smaller cars. Bigger vehicles are not allowed to use the road. The road will be officially opened and ready to be used next month on the Thai Father’s Day.
