Two monkeys caught after reportedly causing monkey business on Coconut Island in Phuket

Koh Kaew –

Two monkeys were caught after reportedly disturbing local residents on the Coconut Island in Koh Kaew.

The director of the Khao Phra Thaeo Nature and Wildlife Education Center, Mr. Pongchart Chuahom, told The Phuket Express that they were notified from locals on Coconut Island in the Koh Kaew sub-district, Mueang Phuket district over the past weekend about the incident.

Two monkeys were reportedly causing chaos in residential areas, disturbing villagers, making noise, causing property damage, and more.

Animal control experts arrived at the island from the Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation in Phuket Town. Rescue workers finally caught the two monkeys after an extended chase.

The monkeys were unharmed and were taken onto a boat to be released back on the same island but in a distant rural area where there are few to no human residents.
