More than 1,200 athletes from 48 countries join Laguna Triathlon in Phuket

More than 1,200 athletes from 48 countries joined in the Laguna Triathlon in Phuket.

The triathlon was held yesterday (November 20th)at the Laguna resort in Thalang. The Phuket Governor Naroong Woonciew and other relevant officials released athletes in the triathlon.

The triathlon consisted of swimming in the sea and lagoons for a distance of 1.8 kilometers, cycling up and down hills for 55 kilometers, and running on local roads for 12 kilometers and more.

The Laguna Phuket Triathlon was listed in the Top 8 of the World’s Greatest Tri Swims by the 220 Triathlon Magazine (UK) in 2020. The Laguna Phuket Triathlon has also been ranked 5th on the 10 Best Triathlons in the World list, by Let’s Do This (UK). The Laguna Phuket destination has been named an the Honourable Contributor in Sports and Exercise, by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports’ Department of Physical Education (DPE) in 2019.
