Phuket Marine Office ensures safety on Loy Krathong

Phuket –

The Phuket Marine office is preparing for safety on Loy Krathong tonight (November 8th).

The Phuket Marine Office Chief Mr. Nachapong Pranit told the Phuket Express that safety centers have been set up at piers, ports and places for Loy Krathong across the island. Officials will patrol around the area to ensure safety.

Boat captains, boat owners, and boat operators are being informed to follow all marine safety measurement during the Loy Krathong events. They will keep watching to make sure there were no floating Krathong that will get closer to boats as there will be some candles and joss stick-lit on them.

Floating lanterns, fire crackers, and fireworks are banned at piers. For the Phuket Marine Office hotline please call 193 and marine accidents hotline please call 1199 for 24 hours.

Today, November 8th, marks the Loy Krathong Festival in Thailand where people will gather in the evening to float flower and banana leave baskets nationwide.
