Man arrested for allegedly stealing from closed buildings and hotels in Patong

Patong –

A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing wires and faucets from closed buildings and hotels in Patong.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Kom, 30, at a building on Phra Baramee Road in Patong over the past weekend. Seized from him were various faucets and equipment used to unscrew pipes.

The arrest came after police was notified from locals that there was a serial thief breaking into closed buildings and hotels to steal wires, faucets, and water pipes. Police caught Mr. Kom while he was coming out from a building on Phra Baramee Road.

He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges with night theft and breaking into other accommodations at night without permission.

Mr. Kom did not immediately enter a plea or speak with the press.
