Phuket –

The demolishment work of the abandoned building on the major Bypass Road is expected to be done next week.

Our previous stories:

Another landslide on a major road in Phuket has blocked a whole lane in Rassada, Mueang Phuket, which has caused traffic chaos.

A part of the Bypass Road which is one of several major roads in Phuket continues to be closed due to a fear of more landslides under an abandoned building on the northbound lane.

A 30-year-old abandoned building on the major Bypass Road in Rassada sub-district, Mueang Phuket is going to be demolished.

The demolishment has started on October 28th, 2022. The Phuket Vice Governor Pichet Panapong inspected the work.

Now for the update:

The demolishment of the abandoned building on Bypass Road has continued for a tenth day.

The contractor behind the project told The Phuket Express that the main building demolishment has been completed.

Meanwhile the smaller building demolishment is expected to be done in the next week before the whole works will be completed and Bypass Road fully reopened to all through traffic.

The building was agreed on by all relevant parties to be demolished after being damaged in recent heavy storms and landslides with fears it could collapse onto Bypass Road and cause injuries or even fatalities.
