Patong –

A minivan driver has been arrested in Patong with methamphetamine pills, a rifle, bullets, a knife and an axe inside his minivan.

The Patong Police Chief Colonel Sujin Ninbodee told the Phuket Express that they have arrested the minivan driver Mr. Chalor Ongnuan, 38, from Chalong on Phra Baramee Road in Patong this morning (November 6th).

Seized from him inside the minivan were nine methamphetamine pills, a rifle, 10 bullets, a knife and an axe.

He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of Category 1 Drugs, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying a gun and knife in public without permission.

The arrest came after police were notified from locals that there was a minivan parked in front of a hotel for a long time and that the driver looked suspicious. They went to the scene before searching inside the minivan.

Chalor declined to release a statement immediately to the press or police.
