Singaporean motorbike rider dies after crashing into truck in Kamala

Kamala –

A Singaporean motorbike rider has died after crashing into a truck in Kamala.

Kamala rescue workers were notified of the accident at 11:30 A.M. today (November 3rd) at a sharp curve in Kamala.

They arrived at the scene to find the damaged motorbike stuck in front of the truck.

A motorbike driver who was later identified as a Singaporean aged around 30 has been pronounced dead at the scene. His female passenger had also sustained severe injuries. She was taken to a nearby hospital. His name was withheld pending notification to his family and embassy.

Witnesses said the motorbike rider lost control and veered into the opposite lane before crashing into the truck. However, the Kamala Police are checking CCTV footage to find the exact cause of the accident and determine liability for potential legal measures against the truck driver, who wasn’t identified.

Update:

The Phuket Express was contacted by an anonymous witness who had this to say:

I want it to be known that there were no witnesses that directly saw the accident only the driver and passenger of the truck. My husband and I in our taxi from Ayara Kamala (where the couple were also staying) arrived within a couple of minutes after the accident and helped the injured woman.
