Bars and restaurants at market in Samkong raided for illegally selling alcohol

Samkong, Rassada –

Bars and restaurants at a night market in Samkong, Rassada sub-district were raided for illegally selling alcohol.

A team of law enforcement officers led by the Phuket City Police and officers from the Mueang Phuket District raided bars and restaurants at a Samkong night market last night (November 1st).

Administrative Chief Officer Mr. Danai Jaikeng told the Phuket Express, “We have received complaints that bars and restaurants in this market were selling alcohol to underage people and many of them do not have licensed permission to sell alcohol.”

“Four of these venues were found selling alcohol to underage users. The venue operators were taken to the Phuket City Police Station to face charges of illegally selling alcohol,” Mr. Danai added.

The Phuket Express noted the name of the night market and operators were not released by relevant officers.
