UPDATE: Demolishment for abandoned building on Bypass Road in Phuket to start tomorrow

Another landslide on a major road in Phuket has blocked a whole lane in Rassada, Mueang Phuket, which has caused traffic chaos.

A part of the Bypass Road which is one of several major roads in Phuket continues to be closed due to a fear of more landslides under an abandoned building on the northbound lane.

A 30-year-old abandoned building on the major Bypass Road in Rassada sub-district, Mueang Phuket is going to be demolished.

The Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew today (October 27th) inspected the abandoned building with the contractor who will do the demolishing work.

Governor Narong told the Phuket Express, “The road is now being closed to the traffic. The demolishment will be started tomorrow (October 28th) and it is expected to be done within 15 days. After that the road will be ready to open for road users. The contract has confirmed that there will be no structures falling during the demolishment.”
