The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources reported this week that they were notified that a live sea turtle was found on the Banana Beach at the Racha Noi Island off Rawai.

The sea turtle was unable to get down into the sea water. It was taken back to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center at Cape Panwa in Wichit.

The sea turtle is 67 centimeters long and 68 centimeters wide. It weighs 28.5 kilograms. The turtle was weak and injured, having no left front and left back flippers. The turtle also suffered from intestinal obstruction. It is now being treated at the marine center.
