Patong –
A local road shortcut from Chalong to Patong will be renovated for road users.
The Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew and the President of the Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO) Rewat Areerob this morning (October 24th) surveyed the local road behind the Silsuparam Temple in Chalong.
Our previous stories:
A road leading to the Patong Hill in Phuket has started to collapse after a landslide.
Now for the update:
Mr. Rewat told the Phuket Express, “The road has already existed which is a shortcut from Chalong and leading to Patong. The total distance is about three kilometers. The road construction was started many years ago but it was unfinished due to an issue on the Forest Department land.”
“We have sent a request to the Forest Department for the road renovation. If they approve, the road renovation project will be started immediately.” The Governor stated.
This road, if completed and approved, will be an alternate route into and out of Patong with the hill road damaged by a landslide and facing extensive repairs.
