Missing man who fell into canal during flood in Chalong found deceased

Chalong –

A man who had been reported missing after falling into a canal during flooding in the Chalong sub-district, Mueang Phuket was found.

The Chalong Mayor Mrs. Tanaphon Ongsantiparp told the Phuket Express, “On Wednesday (October 19th) we were notified that the unidentified man accidentally fell into a canal while he was taking a look at the flood water in Chalong.’

“He was waving for help. Locals tried to help him but failed due to strong currents. A search was launched since then until today (October 21st). This afternoon his body was unfortunately found near a water gate in Chalong, having drowned. He was later identified as a 36-year-old Burmese national.” The mayor stated.
