One person injured after landslide hits three houses in Thalang

One person has sustained injuries after a landslide hit three houses in Thalang.

The Thalang District Chief Bancha Tanooin reported the landslide today (October 20th) in Soi Pae Tong Kee in the Sri Soonthorn sub-district.

Two houses have been damaged from the landslide. No injuries were found from these two houses. However, another house was totally destroyed from the landslide. One injured person was found at the destroyed house and taken to a local hospital.

The landslide has also blocked a local road. However, residents still have another road to go out from the village. Authorities have assisted locals with cleaning sand and soil from the area as well to prevent more landslides.

Many landslides have been reported across the island.

Heavy rain for many hours has caused landslides in Kamala, Patong, and Kathu which also brought down power poles.

Landslides on a main road in Kamala have caused traffic headaches as it is being used as one of the detour routes from Patong.
