Water levels in Bang Yai Canal overflowing into Phuket Old Town

Phuket Town –

Water levels in the Bang Yai Canal had reached its banks before over flowing and started to flood some parts of Phuket Old Town area again.

The rain has continued in Phuket all night and day. Water in the Bang Yai Canal which flows past the Phuket Old Town area has reached its banks again and over flown. Some parts in the Phuket Old Town areas and nearby areas are flooded such as at the Charter Bank Intersection, On Montri Road and Phang Nga Road.

The Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew has ordered the Phuket City Municipality to quickly pump water out from the area. Residents nearby are being warned to move up their properties to higher areas.
