Kathu, Phuket suffers from landslides and flash floods

Kathu, Phuket –

A house of a priest in Kathu has suffered from flash floods and landslides even as more rains hit Phuket overnight, complicating efforts to clean up from weekend flooding called the worst in decades by some local residents.

Heavy rains across Phuket all night and until this morning caused flooding in many areas on Sunday (October 16th).

Today (October 19th) the Phuket Vice Governor Amnuay Pitsuwan and the Kathu district Chief Siwat Rawamgkum visited the house of a priest in Bang Thong, Kathu district after the area has suffered from flash floods and land slides earlier this week.

Authorities have assisted locals for cleaning sand and soil from the area as well as to prevent more landslides.

Meanwhile residents in Kamala in Phuket are still suffering from flash floods when sand and soil invaded their homes.
