Bridge in Thalang destroyed from flood, temporary bridge to be installed

Thalang –

A temporary bailey Bridge is being installed after a bridge in Thalang was destroyed by recent floods. More than 50 residents are stuck in a village currently due to the destruction of the prior bridge.

The bridge, which was used to cross the Bang Naew Dam Canal in Soi R-ree Uppatham in the Sri Soonthorn sub-district, was destroyed by the floods yesterday (October 18th). More than 10 families with more than 50 residents living in a village only reached by the bridge are stuck.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and the Royal Thai Navy are installing a temporary bridge, a ‘Bailey Bridge’ (truss) to cross the canal. The bridge is expected to be ready to be used within three days.
