Phuket Governor visits flood victims across the island

The Phuket Governor has continued to visit victims today who are still suffering from the flooding over the past weekend.

Our previous story:

Heavy rain across Phuket all night and until this morning caused flooding in many areas.

Phuket Old Town has suffered the worst flooding in 50 years this past weekend, said local residents to the media.

The Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew first visited the Phuket Old Town area yesterday and directly assisted during the floods as seen below (October 16th).

Now, for the update:

Today, (October 17th), some areas in the Samkong, Rassada sub-district in Mueang Phuket district have residents that are still suffering from the flooding as the water level has not decreased.

The Phuket Governor Narong and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) officials visited victims in this area.

Governor Narong has ordered officials to quickly help residents while a huge water pump is being used to remove water from the area.
