Thai Metrological Department warns of cool and windy weather as well as heavy rain

Thailand –

The Thai Metrological Department has warned of cool and windy weather in the north of Thailand and heavy rain in the south of Thailand.

This is due to a high pressure cell that covers the upper part of Thailand causing the north of Thailand to have cooler weather and strong wind. Meanwhile, a monsoon remains in the lower southern part of Thailand causing heavy rain with flash floods especially areas near hills, mountains, and basin areas.

Waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are more than two meters in the open sea during storms. Boats should proceed with caution and avoid stormy areas.

The tropical storm ‘Nesat’ which is now covering the Philippines is becoming stronger and heading down to the South China Sea today (October 16th). The storm is expecting to move to the northern Vietnam area around October 20th and quickly become weaker.
