Wichit –
An explosion at a factory in Wichit, sub-district, Mueang Phuket district alarmed residents.
Residents heard a loud explosion in Baan Ao Makham before black smoke came up to the sky. The Wichit firefighters were notified of the fire at 3:30 P.M. this afternoon (October 14th) at an industrial factory.
Wichit firefighters and police arrived at the factory with fire engines before the fire was quickly under control. The black smoke quickly disappeared. The fire did not spread out in a wider area.
The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express no injuries were reported. The cause of the explosion was from a blast furnace oven inside the factory that clogged up and over heated.
