Phuket officers patrol on Patong beach and around entertainment venues to suppress illegal drugs and firearms

Patong –

Officers patrolled on Patong Beach and around entertainment venues for safety to suppress illegal drugs and firearms.

A team of officers from the Kathu District Office led by Mr. Pipop Sudkhao and M. Jirawat Namart inspected entertainment venues on Bangla Road and on Patong beach last night (October 12th).

Mr. Pipop told the Phuket Express, “The inspection is aimed to ensure better safety as more foreign tourists are visiting the area and we also talked with entertainment venue operators. We scanned suspect items like backpacks and ensured safety. At the same time we want to make more confidence for tourists and to suppress illegal drugs.”

The inspection came after three entertainment staffers on Bangla Road in Patong have been arrested with drugs after allegedly selling fake cocaine to tourists.
