UPDATE: Off duty policeman carrying gun and wandering housing estate in Thalang tested positive for drugs

Thalang –

A policeman who was not on duty that was seen carrying a gun and walking around at a private housing estate in Thalang tested positive for drugs.

Our previous story:

Special Service Division Officers and the Region 8 Police were called to the scene after a man who was acting erratically was walking around with a gun. He blocked the entrance of a private housing estate with a pickup truck.

Now for our update:

The Phuket Provincial Police Chief Major General Sermpan Sirikong told the Phuket Express, “We have conducted a urine test for Corporal Korn which shows he was positive for drugs. However we have to conduct more tests to see which drug specifically he took before we press additional charges. We have already reported the incident to his police boss in Phang Nga.”

This incident comes as Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha has ordered a nationwide crackdown on illegal drugs and illegal guns following a tragic mass shooting in Nong Bua Lamphu last week.
