Three entertainment staffers on Bangla Road in Patong have been arrested with drugs after allegedly selling fake cocaine to tourists.

The Patong Police Chief Colonel Sujin Nilbodee told the Phuket Express, yesterday (October 11th) that they have arrested three suspects who are Mr. Soonthorn Bidchamart, 48, from Pattani, Areefun Bidchamart, 25, and Ms. Toiyeeya Yoonu, 49, both from Narathiwat.

Seized from them were 89 methamphetamine pills and 0.29 grams of crystal methamphetamine. They were arrested at a rental room in Patong.

The arrest came after police first arrested Soonthorn and Areefun who reportedly physically attacked tourists last month. They also sold drugs to tourists and admitted they sold fake cocaine.

All three are facing charges of illegal possession of Category 1 Drugs with intent to sell.

It was not made clear if the tourists were charged as well and they were not identified or named in the report.
