Defense volunteers in Phuket all test negative for drugs

Phuket –

Defense volunteers in Mueang Phuket were tested negative for drugs.

The urine testing campaign was launched earlier this week and led by the Mueang Phuket District Chief Mr. Suwit Suriyawong. All defense volunteers were tested negative for drugs.

Mr. Suwit told the Phuket Express, “The campaign is to ensure that these defense volunteers who are working with us are not involved with any illegal drugs. We also want to make sure that they are ready to work with other disciplines. Their duty is also to ensure public safety and to do volunteer works.”

TPN notes that these drug checks are taking place nationwide as part of a crackdown following last week’s tragic mass shooting in Nong Bua Lamphu.
