UPDATE: Five foreign suspects flee Thailand after allegedly extorting Russian on Samui Island

Five foreign suspects have escaped from Thailand after they were allegedly involved in extorting a Russian man for crypto currency on Samui Island.

Our previous stories:

A group of alleged foreign “gangsters” was wanted by Samui Police on September 26th, after reportedly threatening and extorting a Russian man for crypto currency.

One of the suspects in Chonburi who was named by police only as Mr. ANDREY, 37, a Kazakh national, was arrested in Chonburi.

Now update story:

‘Big Joke’, the Assistant Commissioner of Thai Police Surachet Hakpal told the press about the suspects fleeing Thailand today, October 6th, 2022.

Arrest warrants have been issued for the other five suspects who have already left Thailand who are:

MR. SALMAN UMAYEV, 56, Kazakh national

MR. GORBAKOV ASKHAB, 49, Kazakh national

MR. TSCHINGIS AKHMADOV, 39, German national

Mr. SINGH MICHAEL, 35, German national

MR. DANIL UGAY, 42, Russian national

Police are continuing their investigation to contact Interpol for a Red Notice and hopefully work with relevant authorities on extraditing the suspects. Thai police did not specifically state how or when the five suspects fled Thailand.
