Chalong Pier scheduled for significant renovation including an AI system

Chalong –

The Phuket Provincial Administration Organization (OrBorJor) is planning to renovate Chalong Pier, south of Phuket, including adding an AI (Artificial Intelligence) system and adding 120 more CCTV cameras.

The Phuket Provincial Administration Deputy Chief Mr. Thiwat Sridokbua told the Phuket Express, “We are planning to renovate Chalong Pier in order to improve service and safety for tourists. This will be a big change for the pier. We want to turn the pier into the busiest marine tourism pier in Phuket. The renovation might take at least two years.”

“One of the plans is to include an AI System and adding more CCTV cameras with security control rooms. Long tail boats and speedboats will be parked in lines by installing parking buoys. This will make the pier more beautiful and not damage coastal biology system.”

The cost of the proposed project was not immediately made public.
