Phuket Vegetarian Festival comes to the final day

Phuket –

The Phuket Vegetarian street festival has come to the final day.

The vegetarian street processions on the last day this morning (October 4th) went from the Lor Rong Shrine in Phuket Town heading to Saphan Hin Public Park in Phuket Town.

At 3:00 P.M. there was a fire waking ritual from Kathu Shrine and at 7:30 P.M. from Bang Koo Shrine in Koh Kaew.

At 10:00 P.M. every shrine will hold the farewell ritual. The ritual is to send the Nine Emperor Gods or ‘Kiu Ong’ at midnight back to heaven.

Streets in Phuket Town will be filled with people waiting to send the gods away. This ceremony is a MUST see, especially around Thalang Road, Phuket Road, Surin Clock Tower and roads leading to Saphan Hin.
