Large sea turtle found dead on beach in Krabi

Krabi –

A large sea turtle was found dead on a beach in Krabi.

Mr. Somsak Tepbut, the village head man in Baan Koh Kwang in the Nong Talay sub-district, Mueang Krabi district, was notified of the dead sea turtle on Koh Kwang Beach yesterday (September 28th).

Staffers from the Marine Biological Center were called to the scene. They found the dead Olive Ridley sea turtle at 80 centimeters long and 150 centimeters wide. It weighed about 30 kilograms. The turtle had started to decompose but no wounds were found on the turtle. It is believed that the turtle died at least two days before it was found.

The dead turtle was taken to the Marine Center to find its exact cause of death.
