Phuket food delivery rider and customer fined 1000 baht after fight over delivery time

Phuket –

A food delivery rider and a customer were fined 1,000 baht each after a physical fight in Chalong.

The Phuket Provincial Police reported yesterday (September 27th) that over the weekend a man identified only as Mr. Sorasak ordered food via a food delivery application. The location of the delivered destination was misunderstood and incorrect according to the driver, who also wasn’t identified, and as a result the driver took a long time before arriving to his customer.

The food delivery rider then reportedly asked his customer for an extra payment for the delivery due to the alleged incorrect address before the two men started a verbal argument and then a physical fight. Their story went viral on social media after being witnessed by multiple people.

Both parties were called by the Chalong Police to report. They are facing charges of bodily assault but without serious injuries. They were both fined 1,000 baht and apologized for the misunderstanding.
