Phuket vegetarian festival street processions begins

The Vegetarian Festival street processions has started in Phuket today (September 27th).

The vegetarian street processions has started from the Jchoor Su Gong Naka Shrine in the Wichit sub-district of Mueang Phuket District this morning at 7:30 A.M. heading to Saphan Hin Public Park in Phuket Town.

The schedule of other street processions for tomorrow (September 28th) is below:

5:45 A.M. Sapam Shrine (In Koh Kaew)

6:30 A.M. Bang Koo Shrine (In Koh Kaew)

7:00 A.M. Hai Yian Geng Shrine (In Mai Khao, Thalang)

7:30 A.M. Seng Leng Tong Shrine (In Mueang Mai, Thalang)

A “street procession” is conducted every day by every shrine during the festival. The procession offers an opportunity for householders and the general public along the streets to receive the blessing of gods possessing the spirit mediums.

The Phuket Vegetarian festival has officially begun in which the Thai Public Health Minister joined in a ceremony to launch the event.

The parades and processions were canceled in 2021 due to Covid-19 concerns and under strict Covid-19 rules in 2020 making this year the first full Vegetarian Festival since 2019.
