The Phuket City Municipality has delivered an official warning about selling or playing with intense firecrackers during the annual Vegetarian Festival.
The Phuket City Municipality has issued the following warning:
Selling or playing with intense firecrackers are not allowed. Intense firecrackers may cause public nuisance or harm to life and property during the Vegetarian Festival.
Anyone who breaks the rules will face legal action. Please report illegal behavior at 191.
The Phuket Express notes that the exact definition of what an intense firecracker is was vague and left widely up to interpretation of individual law enforcement officers and the user.
