Methamphetamine pill prices decrease causing users to increase in Phuket

Phuket –

Methamphetamine pill prices in Phuket have been decreasing which have caused the number of users to increase.

Mr. Somprach Prabsongkram, the Phuket Administrative Chief Officer told the Phuket Express, “No new designer illegal drugs were found and seized in Phuket recently.”

“However, methamphetamine prices in Phuket have decreased overall. This has caused the number of methamphetamine users to increase. Meanwhile, crystal methamphetamine is being found by law enforcement on a more consistent basis and seized this month,” Mr. Somprach added.

“Officers are strictly preventing the transfer of illegal drugs to the island as well as suppressing drug sellers and users,” Mr. Somprach noted.

Mr. Somprach did not specifically tackle the question of why methamphetamine prices were decreasing even as prices for many other items were suffering from inflation, including fuel and many food categories.

Phuket is currently celebrating the vegetarian festival but prices on vegetables had also risen recently.
