Patong –

Three female foreign tourists have been rescued after getting stuck in a rip current near Patong Beach at night.

The Patong Lifeguards reported last night (September 23rd) that at about 8:00 P.M. three female foreign tourists were seen calling for help in the sea near Patong Beach. It was very lucky that there were some jet-ski operators and lifeguards who were still at the Beach at this time. The three foreign tourists were safely taken back to the beach by a jet-ski.

The Patong Lifeguards are warning tourists not to go into the sea at night.

The names and nationalities of the foreign tourists were not released by Patong Lifeguards but they said all three women were extremely thankful for the support and aid.

As tourism increases in Thailand following the continuing deescalation of the Covid-19 pandemic incidents involving tourists and rough seas have been increasing in general. Lifeguards have been consistently advising tourists to pay attention to flags and weather conditions and not go swimming at night when staff are off duty.
