Russian motorbike rider dies after crashing into minivan in Karon

Karon –

A Russian motorbike rider has been later pronouced dead after he collided his motorbike into a minivan in Karon.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident this afternoon (September 20th) on the Karon – Patong Road in Karon.

The first response teams arrived at the scene to find a damaged motorbike and a damaged minivan on the Karon road at a curve. Nearby, the teams found a Russian man who had sustained serious injuries lying on the road. He was bleeding heavily from his head and was unconscious. He was rushed to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The Russian man’s name and age were not released to the press by rescue services.

Witnesses told The Phuket Express that the Russian motorbike rider had lost control at the curve before crashing into the minivan. However, police are continuing their investigation.

The occupants and driver of the minivan were not injured, although they were not identified and declined to speak to the press.
