Four foreigners injured after buggy car crash in Chalong

Chalong –

Four foreigners have sustained mostly minor injuries, although one suffered more serious wounds, after a buggy car driven by the group (a type of go kart) crashed into a power pole in Chalong.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident yesterday afternoon (September 18th) near a tiger park at the entrance of the road to the Big Buddha (Nakkerd Hill).

The rescue teams arrived at the scene to find four foreigners who had sustained injuries in the buggy car near the damaged power pole. One of them had sustained serious injuries. This person was taken to Chalong Hospital.

The group, who were reportedly middle eastern tourists, specifically requested that their identification was withheld to the media. The tourists also did not clarify how the accident took place or speak to press directly.

Chalong law enforcement is reportedly looking further into the cause of the crash and why the buggy was being utilized in this particular area, which was also unknown. Decisions had not been made on if any legal charges would be filed regarding the crash or possible financial compensation for damages as of press times.
