Marine Police arrest armed couple allegedly stealing from boats at Phuket pier

Phuket –

The Phuket Marine Police have arrested an armed couple who allegedly were stealing from boats at a pier in Phuket.

The Phuket Marine Police told the Phuket Express Friday night (September 16th) that they have arrested a man and a woman at a pier in the Rassada sub-district, Mueang Phuket district.

Phuket Marine Police did not, however, release the names or other information about the pair. One of the duo was armed.

The arrest came after Marine Police received reports from boat operators near the Tha Jeen Canal that items in their boats were stolen. The Phuket Marine Police continued their investigation to arrest the two suspects.

The suspects were taken to the Phuket City Police Station. They were facing charges of pier invasion at night, boat theft, illegal possession of firearms, and carrying a gun in public without permission.
