Monkey disturbing hotel guests in Chalong

Chaong –

A monkey is disturbing guests at a hotel area in Chalong, causing guests and staff to be fed up with the monkey business.

The director of the Khao Phra Thaeo Nature and Wildlife Education Center, Mr. Pongchart Chuahom, was notified from a hotel manager inthe Chalong sub-district, Mueang Phuket district, about the pesky ape.

Pongchart arrived at the hotel to find the monkey on the roof of the venue, he and his staff placed a trap to catch the monkey but failed. However, Mr. Pongchart is advising hotel guests and staffers not to feed the monkey or any other wild animals.

Hotels should also get rid of trash or cover bins to get rid of food smells. This way, one can help to keep monkeys away from the area and limit their monkeying around.

As of press time the sneaky monkey remained on the loose. The name of the hotel was withheld by Pongchart and his team as they were concerned people would flock to see the monkey or even feed it.
