Surat Thani –

A couple of whale sharks were sighted at Phangan Island in Surat Thani, exciting environmentalists.

Mr. Sittiroj Kaewnongsameta, a vice president of the Phangan Sea Guardian Association told The Phuket Express, “This week while we were diving under the sea, we found two whale sharks. One was four meters long and another was six meters long.”

“This shows that the sea has plentiful marine resources. Phangan Island not only has the famous full moon party but also has beautiful underwater scenery too.”

TPN noted that whale sharks are a protected marine animal as it is in danger of extinction.
