Law enforcement officers give owners 15 days to demolish structures encroaching on beach in Thalang

Thalang –

Officers have placed notices which give the order to demolish structures within 15 days that have encroached on public areas on the Lay Phang Beach in Cherng Talay.

A team of Phuket officers led by the Phuket Vice Governor Arnuparp Roadkwan Yodrabam and the director of Phuket Legal Execution Officer Mr. Paween Kumarn went to the Lay Phang Beach yesterday, September 12th, 2022.

The notices state about four cases that were placed to order the demolishment of structures and buildings on public areas. The demolishment must be completed by the end of this month. If they have not followed the order, officers will demolish the structures and charge the owners for the cost of the action.

The orders come following an extended legal battle between owners of the venues, mostly restaurants aimed at tourists, and the government. Owners of the businesses were reportedly looking at legal appeal options as of press time.
