Woman arrested in Patong for allegedly opening bank account for online gambling generating 32 million baht

A 23-year-old woman has been arrested in Patong for allegedly opening a bank account for online gambling which has generated 32 million baht.

The Patong Police Chief Colonel Sujin Nilbodee told the Phuket Express this morning (September 8th), “Yesterday (September 7th) we have arrested Ms. Nat, 23.”

Her last name was not provided by the police chief.

“The arrest came after during December last year we have arrested multiple online gamblers in Patong. We continued the investigation in which we found that money from the online gambling was transferred into Ms. Nat’s bank account.” The chief explained.

“She also opened bank accounts for another online gambling website which has generated 32 million baht in her bank account.” The chief added.

Nat was taken to the Patong Police Station for further legal action.

Nat’s plea to the charges was not immediately known and she did not speak to the associated Thai press.
