Fire destroys grocery store in Rassada and alarms residents

Rassada –

A fire has destroyed a grocery store in Rassada last night (September 4th), and alarmed residents.

Firefighters were notified of the fire at 7:40 P.M. at a local grocery on Ream Pattana Road in the Rassada sub-district in the Mueang Phuket district.

Firefighters arrived at the scene with five fire engines to find the fire was heavily ablaze. It took about an hour to control the fire. The wooden grocery was totally damaged. No injuries were reported. The total cost of damages has yet to be estimated.

The Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew later arrived at the scene to inspect the process.

The Phuket Electricity Authority staffers cut off electricity in the nearby area for safety. At this stage it is believed the cause of the fire is from an electrical short circuit. However, the Phuket Forensic Police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of fire.
