Small boats in Phuket BANNED from going into sea temporarily due to rough weather

Boats in Phuket less than 10 meters long will be BANNED from going into sea temporarily due to rough weather.

The announcement was issued by the Phuket Marine Office Chief Mr. Nachapong Pranit. The announcement states, “This is due to the weather warnings from the Thai Meteorological Department of heavy rain and strong winds and waves in the Andaman sea.”

“Small boats in Phuket less than 10 meters long will be BANNED from leaving ports into the open sea from September 4th to September 6th.”

“Please keep closely updated with the weather forecast from the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) or hotline 1182.”

Meanwhile heavy rain yesterday morning (September 2nd) in Thalang damaged 40 cars.

General Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered the army to help victims from Phuket flooding.
