Phuket ‘Baba’ wedding event officially announced

An annual Phuket traditional Baba Wedding event which will be held in Phuket Town was officially announced.

An annual Phuket traditional Baba Wedding event and parade will be held in Phuket Old Town to boost local tourism next month.

The press conference was held yesterday (August 23rd) at the Phuket Thai Hua Museum led by the Phuket Vice Governor Amnuay Pitsuwan.

Mr. Amnuay told The Phuket Express, “The event will be held next month on September 3rd to September 4th at the Phuket Old Town area in the Talad Yai sub-district. The Baba wedding is one of 16 Phuket unique traditional events which is boosting tourism and the economy.”

“There will be five example couples to present the Baba wedding and ceremony. There will be many traditional Thai-Chinese in the wedding event with many local Phuket food products.” Mr. Amnuay concluded.
